Texas is an at-fault state; meaning, the party who caused the accident is responsible for the damages which ensue.

If you are at-fault in a collision and you have insurance, your bodily injury coverage will cover any damages to the person/people you injured as a result of the auto accident, to the extent of the limits of your policy.

Similarly, your property damage coverage will cover the damage to another person’s property caused by the collision.  If you have collision coverage under your insurance policy, then the damage to your vehicle will also be covered, to the extent of the limits of coverage you maintain.

If you have personal injury protection coverage and/or medical payments coverage on your policy, then your medical bills may also be covered to the extent of your limits.
