Sam A. Maida, Jr. is the owner and the managing attorney of the Maida Law Firm, and has been practicing law since 1993. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989, and subsequently graduated from the nationally recognized and a leading law school in Trial Advocacy, South Texas College of Law Houston, with a Juris Doctorate in 1993. While in Law School, Sam A. Maida, Jr. was awarded “Best Speaker” and his trial team was a semi-finalist in the Fisher, Gallagher and Lewis Mock Trial competition. Sam A. Maida, Jr. began his career by gaining extensive experience trying cases to a Jury from his first week of practicing law as a Harris County, Texas Assistant Prosecutor from 1993 to 1995 when he left to open The Maida Law Firm.

Sam A. Maida, Jr. has been successfully representing victims of personal injury matters, such as 18 wheeler and auto accidents ever since, and he especially enjoys holding trucking companies and their big corporations responsible for violations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and causing injury and sometimes destroying or ending the lives of his law firm’s clients. Sam A. Maida, Jr. has appeared in USA Today, The Houston Chronicle, Fox 26 News, Channel 13, Channel 11, Channel 2 and multiple other local/national news publications. Sam A. Maida, Jr. handles cases all over Texas and in other states having recently settled a case in Pecos, Texas for a total of $2,000,000.00, another near Monroe, Louisiana and several others here in Houston, Harris County, Texas, each for confidential seven figure amounts respectively. Sam A. Maida, Jr. has been recognized as “A Top Texas Attorney” by both Texas Judges and fellow attorneys with an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell.



Ms. Margaret “Maggie” Solomon joined the firm in 2015. She began her career as an underwriter for a small insurance company based out of Dallas, Texas. She started her legal career working at a small Houston firm where she was responsible for case maintenance and management of complex multiparty suits involving issues of Bank Fraud and Civil RICO. Throughout her career, Ms. Solomon worked for multiple mid-sized defense firms in Houston and Beaumont, Texas where she managed the defense of products liability claims, gross negligence claims and premise liability claims for multiple clients.

Ms. Solomon is responsible for the pre-litigation docket at the Maida Law Firm.

Ms. Solomon is a Senior Fellow in the American Leadership Forum. As a fourth generation Texan, Ms. Solomon knows the importance of a strong community and is an active volunteer with multiple non-profit organizations throughout Houston.

Ms. Solomon attended the University of Texas and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Classical Civilizations. She then attended the University of Oklahoma, College of Law in Norman, Oklahoma to obtain her Juris Doctorate in 1995 and was admitted to practice law in Texas in 2000. She is also licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.



Gabriel de Vega is a part of the Maida Law Firm’s litigation department, and has been practicing Personal Injury Law since 2009. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Houston in 2006, and subsequently graduated from the University of Houston Law Center with a Juris Doctorate in 2009. While in Law School, Gabriel de Vega was a member of the Law School’s Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy. He was also a recipient of the Ewer-Oren J.D. Health Law Writing Award for his article “Should Websites be Covered By The Americans With Disabilities Act? A Brief Look At Why Websites Ought To Be Covered By The ADA As Places Of Public Accommodation.”

Gabriel de Vega received his license to practice law in November of 2009, and has been fighting to obtain just results for those who have been seriously injured ever since. He is federally licensed in the Western and Southern District of Texas.



Sam Maida, Sr. is a native Texan and is celebrating his 50th year as a practicing Texas trial lawyer. His distinguished career as a Texas attorney has been spent primarily in Harris and surrounding counties in the State of Texas where he has tried hundreds of cases to Texas Juries.  He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Houston in August of 1966. Mr. Maida, Sr. attended South Texas College of Law from 1966 to 1970 while working at the Harris County Tax Office.  After being sworn in and admitted to the State Bar of Texas, on September 18, 1970, he began his successful practice of law in Houston, Texas.

Over his 50 years of practice, Mr. Maida, Sr. has represented clients in many areas of law, including personal injury with an emphasis on automobile collisions, slip and fall and other injury cases.  Throughout his career, Mr. Maida, Sr. participated in several, million dollar medical malpractice cases, as well as the litigation over the Phillips Petroleum Company explosion in 1989.  In addition to his personal injury practice, he also represented clients in criminal matters and has had many jury trials representing clients charged with criminal offenses ranging from misdemeanors to first degree felonies such as aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, arson, and murder.  Sam Maida, Sr. is of counsel with the Maida Law Firm.



Kristina Orellana is the Office Manager at the Maida Law Firm. Kristina joined the firm in February 2013. She began her career working in the Center for Legal and Social Justice, St. Mary’s School of Law assisting attorneys and paralegals with community outreach in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly thereafter, she worked in an immigration and personal injury firm before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, where she continued to expand her knowledge working for a personal injury litigation firm. In 2013, Kristina relocated with her husband to Houston, Texas and her journey with the Maida Law Firm began. When Ms. Orellana started working at the firm, she liaised and guided the clients through the various stages of pre-litigation but as the firm continued to grow, she now manages the firm’s daily operations and human resources department.
Ms. Orellana attended Texas A&M University and she is a proud Texas Aggie Class of 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She was also a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. She then attended Northcentral University and obtained her Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management in 2016. She is also a Texas Notary Public since 2013. Kristina is bi-lingual English and Spanish.
Ms. Orellana enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and mother. She was born in Peru and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. Her hobbies are reading, running, drawing, dancing, and writing poetry.


Scarlett Yin is an experienced legal assistant and is also the medical records manager at the Maida Law Firm. She has been an integral part of our law firm team since 2016. Scarlett is a graduate of the University of Texas, and is working towards becoming a certified paralegal. Scarlett oversees the medical records department while also assisting our clients with their medical treatment process, working closely with the attorneys and other legal assistants to provide superior service to our clients. Scarlett is bi-lingual English and Mandarin Chinese.


Brescia Abrego joined the Maida Law Firm in 2019 as a pre-litigation legal assistant. Brescia has five (5) years of experience with an emphasis in plaintiff’s personal injury law. Brescia uses her knowledge and customer service skills to help each client navigate their individual case to achieve the best possible outcome. Brescia was raised in Houston, Texas and enjoys spending time with her two children. Brescia is bi-lingual English and Spanish.


Erica Menjivar is a pre-litigation legal assistant at the Maida Law Firm. Erica has experience in medical records and she assists our clients with their medical records and medical treatment process. Her great passion is helping each client to the best of her abilities and being able to bring a smile to their faces. She was born and raised in Houston, TX and enjoys spending time with her family. Erica is bi-lingual English and Spanish.


Danelies Rodriguez Cintron is an experienced and dedicated legal assistant who recently joined the Maida Law Firm team. Danelies was born and raised in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. She moved to Florida in 2009. She attended Keiser University where she graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Paralegal Studies in 2016. Upon graduation, Danelies gained experience as a personal injury paralegal in Florida before relocating to Texas. Danelies enjoys helping individuals obtain the best possible results in their cases. Danelies is bi-lingual English and Spanish.
